Los Angeles: On July 3, 2004, at about 9:00 p.m., Marcus Earl Lane, 36 years of age was driving his car eastbound 107th Street from Central Avenue. A man, described only as being Black, approached Mr. Lane and shot him. The suspect left immediately after the shooting.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene of the crime and transported the victim to Martin Luther King-Drew Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect has not been identified nor has he been located. The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
