Los Angeles: Since Wednesday, July 14, 2004, the Los Angeles Police Department, Mayor’s Office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in conjunction with the Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing Services, hosted a three-day high level meeting to identify, discuss and define the issues regarding gang violence.
The 2004 National Executive Session on Gangs was attended by law enforcement agencies from around the nation. Expert panelists and facilitators from Harvard University and the Department of Justice lead the conference to develop strategies, methods and resources to contend with the gangs that impact our nation.
The media is invited to attend the conclusion of the 2004 National Executive Session on Gangs and take note of some of the results and solutions derived from the meeting.
