Los Angeles : The Los Angeles Police Department, Southwest Division and the Southwest Area Clergy-Police Council are sponsoring a “Walk For Life” Community March in the Baldwin Village Community. Church leaders and their congregations, along with the community and community leaders of the Southwest area are invited to participate in a Prayer Vigil and Walk for Life and Peace. The importance of this March is to send a strong message of empowerment to take back the community, stop the violence and reinforcement of unity in the community.
All participants are asked to assemble at 5:00 p.m. at the Baldwin Hills Baptist Church , 4700 W. Martin Luther King Boulevard , near Nicolet. The Prayer Vigil begins at 6:00 p.m. Parking is available at the Santa Barbara Plaza , 3840 West Martin Luther King Boulevard and shuttle buses will take participants to the march location.
