79 Year-Old Woman Killed In Hit And Run Collision

Los Angeles- The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division will conduct a news conference to request assistance from the community in identifying the person responsible for the death of 79 year-old Maria De Los Angeles Munoz of Los Angeles. Family members of Ms. Munoz will be in attendance.
On Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at about 5:40 p.m., 79 year-old Maria De Los Angeles Munoz of Los Angeles, was crossing the intersection of Hooper Avenue and 23rd Street when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and identify himself, in violation of 20001(A) VC, Hit and Run Felony.
Munoz was discovered by witnesses seriously injured on the roadway. She was transported to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center by personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department. Munoz suffered major body trauma and was pronounced dead by her treating physician on December 3, 2003, at 9:27 a.m.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a white sedan, possibly a Cadillac. No suspect description or further vehicle description was available.
