Los Angeles: On Thursday, September 4, 2003, at about 3:50 p.m., 69 year-old Aluster Alford of Los Angeles was crossing the street at Fountain Avenue and Kenmore Avenue.
The investigation revealed that Alford ran into the path of a newer model Ford Expedition or Lincoln Navigator traveling westbound on Fountain Avenue. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and identify himself.
Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics transported Alford to Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He suffered major head injuries and still has not regained consciousness.
The driver of the vehicle was described as a male Hispanic or Black. The vehicle is described as a white Ford Expedition or Lincoln Navigator with fully tinted windows and multi-spoke chrome rims.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is offering a reward in the amount of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Alford’s death.
