Sun Valley: Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect, or suspects, responsible for the shooting death of 62-year-old Antonio Olmeda.
On January 2, 2022, around 11:00 a.m., Foothill Area officers responded to a shooting call at Vineland Avenue and Strathern Street. Officers discovered a male victim, unconscious and not breathing, due to what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was a person experiencing homelessness, and he was in his encampment.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was known to live at the location where he was discovered and may have been shot several hours prior to being discovered. The victim was found by a friend who notified police.
There is no suspect information.
