Clues Being Sought In Homicide Investigation

 
Los Angeles: On August 31, 2003 at 2:21 a.m., Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to the report of shots being fired at 8633 Columbus Avenue. When officers and paramedics arrived, they were directed to a victim of a shooting who was lying on the ground. The female victim appeared to have been shot in the upper torso. As paramedics were treating the victim, officers were directed to 15324 Parthenia Street where they discovered an additional male victim of a shooting.
Preliminary information indicates that both victims were standing outside the apartment complex on Columbus Avenue when the shooting occurred. The motive for the shooting has not been established and detectives are continuing their efforts to locate witnesses. No information is available regarding the person or persons responsible for this incident.
The female victim was transported to Holy Cross Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The male victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for a leg wound and listed in stable condition.
The deceased victim has been identified as, 24 year-old, Theresa Lynn Kochie, a resident of Palmdale. The male victim is a 19 year old resident of North Hills.
