Los Angeles: On Friday, September 19, 2003 at about 10:00 p.m., 24-year-old Mark Allen Antenorcruz and his companions were walking through the Dodger Stadium parking lot towards lot 27 after leaving the stadium where a Dodgers/Giants game was ongoing. The victim became involved in a dispute with the suspects, 2 males and 1 female. The argument between both parties continued until the suspects reached their vehicle within parking lot 27.
According to witnesses, the suspects got to their car, one of the suspects armed himself with a handgun and shot the victim, critically wounding him.
The victim managed to seek cover aided by his companions, one of whom watched this senseless act take place. This witness alerted a passing motorist that one of the individuals inside the fleeing SUV had just shot his friend.
The concerned motorist chased after the suspects vehicle, wrote down the license plate and provided that information to police officers at the crime scene. Due to the courageous actions by the witnesses, 3 suspects have been placed under arrest and the white SUV is in police custody.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
The motive for this shooting is under investigation.
