Man Stabbed Near Down Town Marriott Hotel

Los Angeles: Central Homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a 45 year-old male Black.
On Friday August 1, 2003, at about 2:30 a.m., uniformed patrol officers responded to a radio call of an ambulance cutting in the 300 block of South Figueroa Street. When the officers arrived they were met by a female witness who told them she was approached by the victim who was holding his chest, and requested help. The witness helped the victim to the front of the Marriott Hotel where she summoned the police.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was admitted in stable condition. On August 3, 2003, Central Division Homicide detectives received a call from the Los Angeles County Coroners Office that the victim had died of his injuries on August 1, 2003, at 3:45 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was under the northbound 110-freeway on-ramp bridge on 3rd Street west of Figueroa when the stabbing occurred. The motive and the victim’s identity are unknown at this time.
