Woman Dies in Traffic Collision

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Detectives are investigating a traffic collision that killed a woman who was a resident of Los Angeles.
On Sunday, August 10, 2003, at about 6:30 a.m., 68 year-old Thelma Fitzgerald was driving her 2000 Toyota Corolla Westbound near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Swall Drive. Driving to work, Fitzgerald’s car entered the intersection and was struck head on by a BMW that had crossed over the centerline. The BMW was being driven by an unidentified 28 year-old male resident of Costa Mesa.
Both drivers were taken to a local hospital where Fitzgerald died from her injuries. The driver of the BMW was treated for a fractured leg and is in stable condition.
