LAPD Recruit Officer Finally Achieves American Dream

Los Angeles : The Los Angeles Police Department proudly announces that it will graduate a new class of police recruits at an open ceremony that will take place at the historic Elysian Park Police Academy. The new officers will have completed 1,064 hours of training over the course of 28 weeks.
The graduating class of 34 recruits (28 males and 6 females) will become probationary officers to be assigned at LAPD Divisions throughout Los Angeles.
Within this graduating class, Recruit Officer Peter Feher has finally fulfilled his American dream of becoming a police officer for the City of Los Angeles. Born in Budapest Hungary in 1967, Recruit Officer Feher joined the Hungarian Army in 1985, and became a regiment member of the "Specialized Border Patrol." Feher was quickly recognized for his outstanding duty and performance and promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Immigrating to the United States in 1996, Feher quickly assimilated into American society by learning English and gaining employment as a Los Angeles City Security Officer. Recruit Officer Feher took his oath for citizenship on July 3, 2002, at the Los Angeles Sports Arena. Beginning a new career, May 30, 2003, Officer Feher will graduate and become a sworn police officer for the City of Los Angeles.
It is anticipated that over 500 guests will attend the ceremony. Chief William J. Bratton will inspect the class. Representatives from the Mayor’s office and the Board of Police Commission will be in attendance as well as their special guests and other dignitaries.
