Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying the killer of Jerry Earl Lankford.
On December 25, 2002, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Jerry Earl Lankford was the victim of a shooting. Mr. Lankford was sitting inside his vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Chesapeake Avenue. Seated in the rear seat of the vehicle was Mr. Lankford’s one year-old daughter. The suspect approached Mr. Lankford on foot and with an unknown type handgun, shot Mr. Lankford multiple times. The suspect was last seen driving a compact four-door vehicle, travelling northbound on Chesapeake Avenue.
Photographs of the victim and a composite sketch of the suspect will be available to the media at the press conference.
