Los Angeles: During January and February of 2003, the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Valley Area Community Police Station coordinated and sponsored a billboard contest involving 5th and 6th grade students from several elementary schools throughout the West Valley Area.
The students were asked to create a drawing with a message of anti-hate and/or tolerance for others. The winning art entry will appear on a large billboard donated by Clear Channel Outdoor. The first, second, and third place winners will all be present at the unveiling, as well as representatives from their schools.
This is a positive event involving the students from the community and their police department.
