Los Angeles: On Friday, March 28, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), in association with the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation, will unveil a billboard expressing appreciation to LAPD officers.
Mr. Steve Ullman, a local businessman who owns the billboard located at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, donated the space for four months as an expression of his support for LAPD officers who put their lives on the line every day. Mr. Ullman expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation. The Memorial Foundation is a non-profit organization, which assists the widows and orphans left behind from officers who have been killed in the line of duty. The Foundation also provides financial grants for officers who have been severely injured or disabled while performing their duties, defending the communities of Los Angeles.
A press conference will be held at the west parking lot of the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, located at 6925 Hollywood Boulevard, to mark the unveiling.
