Suspects Wanted in Severe Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR22162jl

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects responsible for a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a man severely injured.

On June 05, 2022, around 1:15 a.m., a stolen van was traveling westbound on Osborne Street when it ran a red light at Beachy Avenue and collided with a Toyota Yaris. The driver and passenger of the van exited the vehicle and fled the location on foot, failing to stop and render aid, as required by law. The driver of the Toyota suffered severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics in critical condition.

The van that was abandoned at scene is currently in police custody.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
