Fatal Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision NR22204ll

Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect responsible for a hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a female pedestrian.

On July 17, 2022, around 4:55 a.m., a female pedestrian was struck by a Toyota Corolla pulling away from the east curb on North Wilton Place north of Sierra Vista Avenue. The Toyota Corolla continued northbound Wilton Place, without rendering aid to the pedestrian. Due to the traffic collision, the pedestrian fell backward and landed in the #1 lane of Wilton Place. Within a couple of minutes, a Nissan Rouge, traveling northbound Wilton Place struck the pedestrian that was laying in the #1 lane on Wilton Place. The Nissan Rogue continued northbound Wilton Place to eastbound Santa Monica Boulevard, without rendering aid to the female. Due to the collision, the female was forced in a northerly direction on Wilton Place, coming to rest in the middle of the roadway.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the female to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla was found and is cooperating with the investigation. The search for the driver of the Nissan Rouge is ongoing.
