Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Division detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for a shooting that injured a 60-year-old man.
On September 18, 2022, around 10:45 p.m., 77th Street Division patrol officers responded to Western Avenue and 48th Street for a radio call of a shooting. Officers observed a large street take-over dispersing and discovered a 60-year-old male victim laying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.
77th Street Division detectives located security video that captured this shooting. The video revealed that the suspect was attending the street take-over, when he had an altercation with another spectator. The situation escalated when the suspect produced a handgun and fired about three times at the fleeing spectator. During the shooting, a 60-year-old male victim was struck in the back and fell to the ground. The victim was walking home when this shooting occurred and was not involved with the street take-over. The suspect ran away eastbound on 48th Street.
The suspect is described as a male, Hispanic, standing 5 feet and 11 inches tall, and weighing about 170 pounds. He appears to be about 18 years old, with short dark hair, wearing a light-colored short sleeve T-shirt, dark pants, and dark shoes.
