Two Men Killed During Argument

On Sunday, August 25, 2002, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the two victims became involved in a verbal dispute at the "La Original Adelita’s" restaurant located at 1053 South Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles. The dispute escalated and one of the victims was escorted out of the establishment.
Adan Aguilar, friend of victim George Magallon, remained inside the restaurant. Aguilar approached Max Gallardo and without provocation shot Gallardo twice. Gallardo survived his injuries.
Aguilar walked to the restroom area and shot and killed Gallardo’s friend, Eddy Paredes, 32 years of age.
The restaurant owner Rudy Vasquez tried to disarm Aguilar and a struggle ensued for control of the weapon. During the struggle, Aguilar’s friend George Magallon 26 years of age, was shot and killed. Vasquez was also shot during the struggle. Aguilar also received a gunshot wound during the struggle and will survive his injury.
Uniformed officers arrested Aguilar shortly after the shooting. He was booked on two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
