Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, Foothill Area, in cooperation with the Anti-Defamation League and the Los Angeles Unified School District will be acknowledging and awarding several students as the winners of a Diversity Coloring Project at the Pacoima Library.
Three Pacoima elementary schools participated in the contest by challenging their students to submit art projects that represent tolerance, diversity and the ability to interact with other cultures within their community.
Councilman Padilla, or his representative, will make the presentations and announce the winners. The winning project will receive a family pass of Disneyland tickets, the 2nd place winner will receive a $100.00 U.S. Savings Bond and the 3rd place winner will receive a $75.00 U.S. Savings Bond. The top nine finalists will have their projects displayed at the Pacoima Library and the winning project will be displayed on a local billboard, courtesy of Clear Channel Outdoors Advertisements of Los Angeles.
Also in attendance at the presentations will be the Foothill Area Operations Support Division Commanding Officer, Operations Valley Bureau Commanding Officer, a representative of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Representative from the Anti-Defamation League, Principals from Beachy, Haddon and Sharp Elementary schools, and parents of the nine students winning projects.
