Los Angeles: On May 28, 2002, at approximately 3:50 P.M., Robert Dale Woolard, 39-year old male White, was driving a white Honda Civic eastbound on 223rd Street, crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head on with a Chevy Tahoe, which was traveling westbound on 223rd Street. The driver in the Chevy sustained bruises and abrasions. The passenger, a 24-year old female White, in the Honda Civic, sustained blunt force trauma and died from her injuries at the scene.
Robert Dale Woolard sustained a fractured right femur and fractured pelvis. He was transported to a local hospital for his injuries. Upon his release from the hospital on June 5, 2002, Woolard was arrested and booked for second-degree murder.
On June 7, 2002, the Long Beach District Attorney’s Office filed Felony Manslaughter Charges.
