The Los Angeles Police Department is providing the public with the following information to assist law enforcement with their efforts in locating four children who had been abducted by their natural father.
On Friday, June 28, 2002, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the suspect, Antonio Pacheco, took his wife out to dinner in East Los Angeles. While they were dining, the suspect advised his wife, Maria Rodriguez, that he was going to get some gas for their car. The suspect left and did not return for approximately four hours.
When Maria took a taxi and returned to their residence at approximately 9:00 p.m., she discovered her husband and children had packed up and left the location.
Maria advised the officers that they have been married for 14 years and have four children in common. She further stated that they have been arguing over the family moving to the Chicago area and her husband was against the plan. The suspect had threatened to take their children to Mexico.
