Los Angeles: On Sunday, May 19, 2002, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Dawanna Denise Estes, a 38-year old, mother of five, was shot and killed when she came to the aid of a friend who was involved in a domestic dispute. The murder was witnessed by her three young children and the teenaged children of her friend.
A warrant for the arrest of the suspect, 25-year old Alikish Yurral Moore, was issued on Tuesday, May 21, 2002, charging 187(A) PC (Murder) and 422 PC (Terrorist Threats).
Southeast Homicide Detectives will hold a press conference in an attempt to gain the public’s assistance in locating and apprehending the suspect.
The victim’s family members will be in attendance and photographs of both the victim and suspect will be made available to the press.
