Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision NR22374ll

Olympic: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a pedestrian.

On December 2, 2022, around 3:05 a.m., a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision occurred on Vermont Ave north of Venice Bl. A vehicle that appeared to be a silver Mercedes C Class, four door sedan was traveling northbound Vermont Ave when it collided with the pedestrian.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz fled the area without identifying themselves or rendering aid to the victim, as required by law.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian was pronounced dead three days later.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
