Shooting Death of a 19 Year-Old Marine

Boyle Heights: On Sunday, February 10, 2002, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Ronald G Brooks, a 19 year old, male, Hispanic was standing in front of a residence located in the 600 block of North Breed Street. Unknown suspects(s) approached Mr. Brooks and fired several shots striking him in the upper torso.
Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced Mr. Brooks dead at the scene.
The victim, is an active duty, United States Marine, based at Camp Pendleton, was home on a weekend pass.
The motive is currently unknown and there is no suspect information.
