Traffic Stop by LAPD Officer Nets $160,000.00 in Cocaine

 
Los Angeles: On Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Southwest Area Bicycle Officer Armand Lemoyne, was on patrol in the area of Normandie Avenue and 36th Street when he observed an individual commit a traffic violation. Officer Lemoyne conducted a traffic stop.
During the course of his investigation, Officer Leymone determined that the traffic violator was driving with a suspended driver’s license. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle in preparation for impound, Officer Lemoyne discovered what he believed to be two "bricks" of cocaine in the trunk of the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and subsequently booked for Transportation of a Controlled Substance for Sale. The cocaine was determined to have a street value of approximately one hundred and sixty thousand dollars.
