Los Angeles – On Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at approximately 10:45 a.m., victim Henry Hodge, 19 years of age, was sitting in a 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass in front of 6516 South Haas Avenue. A possible friend, victim Edwan Goodwin, 24 years of age, approached Hodge’s vehicle to engage in a conversation. All of a sudden, the suspect vehicle, described as a possible Honda, gray in color, with three male Black suspects, pulled along side Hodge’s vehicle and fired several gunshots at Hodge. Goodwin, fearing that the suspects would shoot him, ran from the scene. The suspects backed up, fired several rounds at Goodwin, and fled the scene.
Hodge sustained a fatal gunshot wound and died at the scene. Goodwin was located a block from the crime scene with minor injuries possibly sustained from the shattered glasses during the shooting.
The motive for this incident is unknown.
The suspects and weapon remain outstanding.
