Los Angeles – On Saturday, July 7, 2001, between the hours of 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., Devonshire Area Community Police Station will host its at the intersection of Parthenia Street and Kester Avenue, at the Sepulveda Recreation Center.
Los Angeles Chief of Police Bernard C. Parks and Devonshire Area Community Police Station Captain Joseph Curreri, will attend the event and will be available to speak with community members regarding issues of concern in the area. Through these community block parties, the hard working, law-abiding residents within the selected neighborhoods can meet their local police officers and realize a sense of empowerment in our mutual efforts to help combat and reduce the fear and incidence of crime.
The event will feature live entertainers, police support groups, local business representatives, outreach groups, employment agencies, gang counselors, LAPD Explorers and Reserve Officers, D.A.R.E. Officers and LAPD Recruitment Officers. There will be plenty of food and drinks available.
