The program will feature traditional Police Honors; the “roll call” of fallen heroes, the rider-less horse, a rifle volley, the “missing man” formation helicopter fly-over, the symbolic sounds of bagpipers playing Amazing Grace, a solo bugler playing Taps and a time-honored “End of Watch Broadcast.” The ceremony will also include the inaugural performance of the LAPD Choir, a voluntary choir comprised of sworn and civilian LAPD employees. At the conclusion of the program, family members and partners of fallen officers will share an opportunity of remembrance and reflection as they place a long-stem rose near their loved one’s name plate on the Memorial Wall.
