Chief Moore’s Statement on LAMC 41.18 NR23173ti

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is aware of the report published by the City Controller regarding arrest data involving LAMC 41.18 over the past 11 years. The Department will respond to this report once it has had the opportunity to review its content.

It is the mission of the Los Angeles Police Department to provide for public safety including protecting those most vulnerable. Chief Michel Moore stated, “The enforcement of this section has evolved over the last decade in response to a number of factors. We remain committed to work arm-in-arm with our service providers, elected leaders and community members to provide housing services and ensuring the safe access to public spaces particularly in sensitive areas such
as schools and childcare centers.”
