Murder/Suicide Investigation

San Pedro – The Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division Homicide detectives are investigating a possible murder/suicide that occurred in the 1100 block of Crestwood Avenue.
On Wednesday, February 28, 2001, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Harbor Patrol officers responded to the location and discovered the victim, Michelle Amalfitano, 44 years of age, dead at the scene from gunshot wounds. The suspect, Eugene Armijo, 53 years of age, was also found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are attempting to determine the motive for the incident.
