Los Angeles- On March 16, 2001, at approximately 4:15 p.m., an unidentified male suspect approached the front porch of a residence located at the 16700 block of Oak View Drive in the West Valley Area immediately after a package was delivered by the US Postal Service.
The suspect removed the cardboard box containing an impressionistic acrylic on canvass rendition of the Grand Canyon by Colin Barton. This painting had been shipped to the victim as a gift by the artist. The suspect was observed leaving the area by a local resident in an older black mini truck.
The suspect is described as a male Caucasian, 6’1" tall, approximately 25 years of age, with short blond hair. The suspect was dressed in the attire of a construction worker, and was wearing a blue elbow pad on his left elbow.
