The parents have been located and reunited with the juvenile.
Olympic Area: On Thursday, July 27, 2023, around 5:00 p.m., a severe injury traffic collision occurred on Vermont Avenue at the intersection with 7th Street. The collision involved a male juvenile approximately ten years old who was riding a rental scooter. A review of the juvenile’s phone showed Cyrillic alphabet writing, indicating he is possibly of Russian descent.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the juvenile. He was transported to a local hospital and is undergoing treatment, where he remains in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle remained at scene and identified self. At this time there appears to be no criminal negligence regarding the driver of the vehicle.
Due to his age, he had no identification on his person and no fingerprints on file to aid in his identification. We are seeking the public’s help in identifying this young man so proper notification can be made to his parents or a legal guardian.
