Olympic Area: The Los Angeles Police Department, West Traffic detectives, are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a pedestrian.
On September 23, 2023, around 8:30 p.m., a white pickup truck, traveling Southbound Hoover Street, approaching the intersection with Pico Boulevard collided with a male pedestrian.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the white pickup truck did not stop to identify self and render aid to the pedestrian and fled the scene of the incident. It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
