Captain Rachel Rodriguez began her creer with the Los Angeles Plice Deparment (LAPD) in 2005 and worked a variety of assignments including patrol, vice, criminal sureillance team, and field training officer with Southwest, 77th Street, and Olympic Areas. In 2013, she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and served as a patrol and vice supervisor in Newton, gang enforcement detail supervisor in Wilshire, and as an adjutant within the Office of Constitutional Policing and Policy. She promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2021 and was assigned as a watch commander and administrative lieutenant at 77th Street Area. In 2022, she served as the Executive Officer to Chief Of Police Michel Moore. In 2023, she was promoted to the rank of Captain and served as the Commanding Officer of Southeast Patrol Division. She now serves as the Commanding Officer of Olympic Patrol Division.
She received her Master’s Degree of Science in Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach. She is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and LAPD Leadership Program.
