Fatal Hit and Run in Hollywood NR23702am

Hollywood Division:  Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision.

On September 24, 2023, at 1:23 a.m., a 2020-2023 rapid blue Chevrolet Corvette, traveling southbound La Brea Avenue collided into a male pedestrian (victim) crossing La Brea Avenue north of Sunset Boulevard.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the victim. The victim had succumbed to his injuries at scene and was pronounced dead by Los Angeles Fire Department. The pedestrian has been identified and notification to next of kin have been notified.

The driver of the Chevrolet Corvette fled the scene without identifying themselves and/or rendering aid to the victim. Speed possibly was a factor in this collision. It is unknown if Alcohol and/or drugs were a factor. The investigation is ongoing.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
