Why:
This event is to launch a new program designed to encourage high school students to stay in school. Organizers hope through the influence of community mentors to elicit 500 mentors who will be divided amongst two Los Angeles area high schools. The program is a collaborative effort between, LAPD, LAUSD, Recreation and Parks, Catholic Big Brothers and United for Christ.
