Los Angeles: Detectives of the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Central Traffic Division are seeking information in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian dead.
On October 20, 2023, around 2:58 a.m., a 37-year-old male pedestrian was possibly in medical distress and lost consciousness in the westbound number two lane of traffic on Temple Street west of Fremont Street. A 2007 to 2011 sky blue metallic Toyota Camry was traveling westbound Temple Street when it ran over the pedestrian. The driver of the Toyota Camry fled the scene without stopping to render aid and identify him or herself. The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
