Fatal Hit-and-Run Involving a Pedestrian NR23733mo

Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division detectives are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a pedestrian.

On October 6, 2023, around 7:20 p.m., the suspect vehicle, described as a white sedan, was traveling west on Anaheim Steet at the intersection of King Avenue when it collided with a female pedestrian walking in a marked crosswalk. The force of the collision caused the victim to be propelled into the air before landing in the roadway. The suspect vehicle fled in an unknown direction without stopping to identify themselves, or render aid.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the female to a local hospital. On October 27, 2023, the victim died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
