Information Sought in Early Morning Homicide In South Los Angeles NR23769jc/ne

South Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) South Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for the shooting death of Obet Garcia-Ortega, a 41-year-old Hispanic male.

On November 30, 2023, around 2:30 a.m., 77th Division patrol officers responded to a radio call of an “Ambulance Shooting” at the intersection of West Gage Avenue and Hoover Street.

When officers arrived, they attempted life-saving measure and requested the response of paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department who pronounced the victim deceased at-scene.
