LAPD Van Nuys Area Partner with Hyundai to Host an Anti-theft Software Update Clinic NA23129dm

WHY:
In response to increasing thefts targeting newer Hyundai vehicles without push-button ignitions, Hyundai introduced a free anti-theft software upgrade to prevent the vehicles from starting during a method of theft popularized social media channels. Although this software upgrade has been available since February 2023, the majority of affected vehicles
have not been updated, leaving them susceptible to being stolen.

On Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Keyes Hyundai, in partnership with Los Angeles Police Department Van Nuys Area, will be hosting a mobile clinic allowing Hyundai owners to get the software update, free of charge. The clinic will take place in the Keyes Hyundai parking lot of Van Nuys. The update will take approximately 20 minutes per vehicle. No appointment is necessary.
