Sexual Predator Claims Another Victim

A sexual assault occurred Friday, March 26, 1999 at 4:20 A.M. in the 3500 block of Jasmine Street. The victim is a forty-two year old female who was alone in her apartment when the suspect entered and began to sexually assault her. The victim struggled with the suspect who struck her in the upper body and face. It is believed that the suspect was scratched on the face during the attack. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated. The suspect resembles the composite sketch from a previous sexual assault in the general area.

The suspect is described as: a male African-American, youthful in appearance, thin built, 17 to 25 years old, short hair, 5’10 to 6’0 tall, wearing a dark bomber jacket, dark baseball cap, dark jeans, and no facial hair.

The following sexual assaults are probably related to today’s occurrence:

December 21, 1998 – Santa Monica
February 11, 1999 – Venice
February 19, 1999 – Palms
February 23, 1999 – Venice
March 18, 1999 – Santa Monica
March 26, 1999 – Palms

The Los Angeles Police Department, Santa Monica and UCLA Police remain committed to solving these vicious assaults. The public is reminded of the $25,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of this suspect. What is most important in these cases is to do the right thing by notifying the LAPD if anyone has information about this suspect.

Women in these areas are reminded to lock their doors and windows particularly when they are alone.
