UPDATE
On Saturday, December 30, 2023, 29-year-old Adrian Gibbs was shot at the Metro Station at Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported Gibbs to a local hospital where he later died.
On January 1, 2024 Southwest Gang Enforcement officers arrested 24-year-old Dwight Panton in the area of 50th Street and 9th Avenue. Panton was booked and arrested for 187 (A)PC- Attempt Murder and is being held on $3,110,000 (Booking No. 6735629). Panton was wearing the same clothing worn by the suspect during the murder and was in possession of a handgun.
On January 3, 2024 the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office filed charges against Panton for the murder of Adrian Gibbs. The District Attorney also filed two counts of attempted murder and one count of assault with a firearm. These additional charges are related to Panton’s involvement in two shootings in the Leimert Park area as well as a shooting in the city of Inglewood.
Hyde Park: Los Angeles Police Department South Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for the shooting death of a 25 to 30-year-old man.
On Saturday, December 30, 2023, around 12:45 p.m., 77th Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 5800 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard. When the officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The victim has yet to be identified. Once the victim has been identified, his name will be released by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office pending notification to next of kin.
There is no suspect description.
