Wilshire: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a felony hit-and-run traffic collision.
On February 20, 2024, around 6:05 a.m., a pedestrian was walking southbound Crenshaw Boulevard inside a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a late-model, gray, Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) that was making an eastbound turn onto Venice Boulevard from southbound Crenshaw Boulevard. The driver of the SUV failed to stop, identify themselves, and render aid to the pedestrian as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital for medical treatment. The victim is a 62-year-old Los Angeles area resident and is currently in recovery from his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
