No Hollywood Halloween Parade

No Halloween Parade in Hollywood

On Halloween Night, Sunday, October 31, 1999, Hollywood Boulevard becomes inundated with thousands of people believing there will be a parade and other planned festivities. This may be due in part to the belief that the parade and activities in the CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD continue into the Hollywood area. The public should know however that:

HOLLYWOOD WILL NOT HOST A HALLOWEEN PARADE NOR SPONSOR OTHER OFFICIAL HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES ON PUBLIC STREETS OR SPACES.

Because of large crowds every year, some individuals attempt to use this night to be criminally disruptive and violate the individual and property rights of Hollywood residents and visitors. In response, the Los Angeles Police Department will assign a larger number of police officers to Hollywood Division and specifically to the Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard areas in order to ensure public safety. Strict patrol and enforcement activities will concentrate on alcohol related offenses.

Those who chose to come to Hollywood on Halloween Night, are encouraged to have a good time and to respect the property and individual rights of others.

For more information, please call Hollywood Area Community Police Station, Special Events Unit at (323) 957-4519.
