On August 28, 2024, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Valley Bureau Homicide Detectives arrested 23-year-old Grigor Hovsepyan, a resident of Granada Hills, for the murder of Gavin Orozco-Unzueta. Hovsepyan was booked at Van Nuys Jail for 187(a) PC: Murder, booking number 6873749 on $5,030,000 bail.
On August 30, 2024, the San Fernando District Attorney’s Office filed one count of 187(a) PC: Murder and two counts of 664/187(a) PC: Attempt Murder on Hovsepyan.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Gavin Orozco-Unzueta, a resident of Sylmar.
Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are looking for any potential witnesses that were in the area of Braemore Road between Tampa Avenue and Reseda Boulevard between April 30, 2024 at 11:30 p.m., and May 01, 2024 at 12:55 am. and may have seen any confrontations involving two white vehicles; one parked, and one driving by. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward by calling Operations Valley Bureau Homicide at (818) 374-9550.
Los Angeles: Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Valley Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect, or suspects, responsible for a shooting that killed a 19-year-old man.
On May 1, 2024, around 12:55 a.m., Devonshire area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the 17500 block of Rinaldi Street. Upon their arrival, officers located a victim on the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification to next of kin. There is no suspect information.
