LAPD Statement on Charges Filed Against LAPD Detective

Los Angeles: Detective Stephanie Carrillo, last assigned to Force Investigation Division, was charged today in Los Angeles on a misdemeanor offense for her involvement in a hit-and-run traffic collision.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division initiated an administrative investigation into this allegation, and Carrillo was relieved of her police powers pending the resolution of the administrative investigation. With the oversight of the Inspector General, the Department will ensure administrative accountability in this matter.

The Department continues to fully cooperate with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as criminal proceedings are carried out.

Carrillo has been a member of the Department for 24 years.
