Rampart Homicide Investigation

Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a female White 31 years of age.

On November 2, 1999 at approximately 10:00 A.M. employees of businesses located in 1500 block of Temple Street observed the victim in a vehicle parked in the parking lot that used the service the now closed branch of the Los Angeles City Library located at 515 North Laveta Terrace. The witnesses investigated and observed the victim slumped in the driver seat of a beige 80’s model Toyota Camry. The victim appeared to have been shot. The witnesses called the paramedics and police.

The paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed the victim had been shot in the head sometime between midnight and dawn. The motive for the crime has not been established. Investigators are aware that street gang members, tagging groups and narcotics users frequent the location where the crime occurred.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
