On Friday, December 3, 1999, at approximately 12:30 AM, West Traffic Division Officers responded to a radio call of a traffic collision in the 2200 block of Canyon Drive in Hollywood. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 1999 silver Porsche, who was later identified as Jason Priestly, 30 years of age, and a resident of Los Angeles, had collided with several fixed objects and a parked car. There was a passenger in Mr. Priestly’s vehicle, who was later identified as Chad Cook, 27 years of age and a resident of Hollywood. Mr. Cook sustained a broken right arm from the collision. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
The investigating officers observed Mr. Priestly to display objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. Mr. Priestly was arrested for felony driving under the influence causing injury and booked at Hollywood Jail.
Mr. Priestly was released later this morning on $50,000 bail.
The investigation is ongoing and West Traffic Follow-up Detectives are handling the case.
