First responders from corresponding agencies face one another in the boxing ring to help fundraise for the USS Iowa’s youth programs.

WHY:
First responders from the above-mentioned law enforcement and firefighting agencies have come together to lace up boxing gloves to put on a fun and entertaining boxing show. The first responders are determined to shine in the boxing ring all while helping fundraise for the Battleship Iowa Museum’s youth educational programs on the famous battleship. The US Navy has a very long history of sailors participating in the sport to entertain one another while at sea, now first responders from all over southern California get to step in and lace up the gloves to assist in carrying this long tradition. The competing first responders are committed to showing the audience that first responders do a lot more than just respond to calls for emergency services, they are also willing to go toe-to-toe against one another to help fundraise.

The Battleship Iowa Museum runs several educational programs that serve youth from all over Southern California to include STEM education, overnight adventures and battleship history.
