Baldwin Hills: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a woman.
On July 23, 2024, around 1:50 a.m., an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on La Cienega Boulevard passing Obama Boulevard struck and killed a female pedestrian. The suspect vehicle fled northbound La Cienega Boulevard without stopping or rendering aid to the victim as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and the female pedestrian was pronounced deceased at scene as a result of her injuries sustained from the collision. Her identity is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin.
There is no description of the driver or vehicle.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
The public is also reminded that pedestrians must obey all traffic laws and cross the street when it is safe to do so.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
